Hiddify setup: same app, every device

If you want one interface on your laptop, your phone and your parents' tablet, this is the one.

Why people choose it

Hiddify is a free, open source client built on the sing-box engine. Its appeal is sameness. The Windows, macOS, Linux, Android and iOS versions look alike and behave alike, so whatever you learn on one device carries over to the next. It reads vless:// links, connects with one large button and chooses sensible defaults, including full device mode on phones. For anyone setting up a key for the first time, or for someone else, it is the client we suggest starting with.

Setup on any platform

1

Phones: install Hiddify from Google Play or the App Store. Computers: download it from the hiddify-app releases page on GitHub.

2

Get your key from @valideo_bot in Telegram and copy the vless:// line.

3

In Hiddify tap New profile, then Add from clipboard. On a phone, Scan QR works too.

4

Tap the big connect button. Approve the system's VPN prompt the first time.

5

On a computer, open Settings and set the service mode to VPN or TUN if you want every program covered.

What the main screen tells you

  • The name of the active profile, which you can rename to something like Valideo.
  • Connection state and traffic counters.
  • A delay figure in milliseconds, measured to the server. Lower is better.
  • A switch between profiles, if you have added more than one.
  • A link to logs, which helps when you write to support.

Settings most people can leave alone

Hiddify exposes a lot: DNS choices, routing by region, fragment options, mux. With a Valideo key the defaults are right. There are two you might touch. The first is the mode on a desktop, system proxy versus VPN, explained in our Windows and Mac guides. The second is per-app proxy on Android, to leave a banking app outside the tunnel. If you change something and the connection breaks, the option to reset to defaults brings it back.

Limits and quirks

  • On iPhone the App Store version can lag behind the others. Streisand or V2Box are good alternatives.
  • The first launch on macOS triggers the usual prompt about an app downloaded from the internet.
  • On Windows, VPN mode needs administrator approval once.
  • Auto start and auto connect are off by default. Turn them on if you want the tunnel always up.
  • It is a client only. It has no servers of its own and no account system.

One key, many Hiddifys

A family setup is simple. Install Hiddify on up to five devices, scan the same QR code on each and rename the profile so that nobody is confused. When a phone is replaced, install and scan again. Nothing is tied to a device, there are no passwords to recover, and nothing in the app connects back to Valideo. If a sixth device tries to join, it simply fails to connect until one of the five goes offline.

Q.Is Hiddify free?

A.Yes. It is open source and has no paid tier.

Q.Is Hiddify safe?

A.Its code is public and actively maintained. Install it from the official stores or from its GitHub releases.

Q.Why Hiddify and not v2rayN?

A.It is simpler and looks the same on every platform. v2rayN gives more manual control on Windows.

Q.Does Hiddify support Reality?

A.Yes. The sing-box engine handles VLESS with Reality.

Q.What does the delay number mean?

A.It is the round trip time to the server. It is a rough guide to how responsive the connection is, not a measure of speed.

Q.Can I use it with other providers too?

A.Yes. Every profile is independent.
